Microsoft: the Cortana mobile app on your phone will no longer be supported in January
Microsoft has announced that it will close the Cortana version released for Android and iOS in January next year. Microsoft officially said: “To make your personal digital assistant as helpful as possible, we’re integrating Cortana into your Microsoft 365 productivity apps. As part of this evolution, on January 31st, 2020, we’re ending support for the Cortana app on Android and iOS in your market. At that point, the Cortana content you created–such as reminders and lists–will no longer function in the Cortana mobile app or Microsoft Launcher, but can still be accessed through Cortana on Windows. Also, Cortana reminders, lists, and tasks are automatically synced to the Microsoft To Do app, which you can download to your phone for free.”
Official reminders that after January 31, 2020, the Cortana mobile app on the user’s phone will no longer be supported, and there will be a Microsoft launcher with an updated version of Cortana removed.
It is unclear whether Apple’s operating system and the Android version of Cortana will continue to operate in the US and other countries after January 31. It can be confirmed that after January 31, in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, Cortana will disappear from the Microsoft Launcher application. It is reported that Microsoft launched Cortana software for iOS and Android in December 2015, but in the face of Google, Amazon and Apple’s voice assistants, it is ultimately defeated.
