Microsoft Edge browser market share is continuing to increase

At present, market research companies have successively released the market share of operating systems and browsers in the latest month, and data shows that the share of Microsoft browsers is increasing.

Since the launch of the new Microsoft Edge browser, Microsoft has been using various methods to promote it. Of course, since there is a promotion, it will definitely get results in the end.

Although the market share ratios given by different market research companies are slightly different, they all show that Microsoft’s browser share has been steadily increasing from the previous to the present.

It is worth noting that the market share of the Google browser is very stable and even slightly increased. Where does the market share of Microsoft browsers come from? The answer is Firefox.

Note that in terms of browser share, Microsoft browsers refer to the new and old versions of Microsoft Edge, excluding the market share of all versions of the IE series.

The old UWP version of the Microsoft Edge browser has a very low market share in the years since it was released, and the differentiation in user reputation has been somewhat serious.

Some users think that the old version of the browser is simple, efficient, and feature-rich with features, but most users think that the browser has a lower loading efficiency and a slightly worse experience.

This differentiated reputation can actually be seen in the fact that the user base of the old version of the browser is quite fixed, which is why the browser’s market share is always between 4 and 5%. The current market share of the Chromium Microsoft Edge browser has reached 8.9% and is expected to reach 9% next month.

Microsoft’s goal is of course to target Google Chrome, although there is still a nearly ten-fold gap between Microsoft and Google Chrome in the desktop browser market.

Prior to this, Microsoft and Google had already pinched each other too many times on browsers. The reason for each other’s pinching is well understood. Microsoft is currently the strongest rival of Google Chrome in the market.

With the help of the Windows 10 system, Bing searches, and Microsoft 365, Microsoft frantically promoted the Microsoft Edge browser to erode Google market share.

This is something that Firefox can’t do, so in these years, Firefox’s market share has been gradually swallowed by Google until now that Microsoft’s browser has come out again.

But although Microsoft’s goal is Google, some things may not be as desired, because the Google browser market has not fallen, and even Google’s market share has increased.

The market share that Microsoft’s browser gained was actually obtained from Firefox and other browsers, so it was Firefox that had the worst fight.
