Apple: APFS supports Fusion Drive, coming soon with software updates

Today released the official version of macOS High Sierra Mac computer to bring a new file system Apple File System, referred to as APFS. But only support the full Flash models, so it does not include iMac and Mac mini Fusion Drive technology using these Mac computers. But the good news came. “Yes, we plan to bring this support in the future through software updates,” Craig Federighi said, senior vice president of Apple Software Engineering, in response to a user’s email question.

Fusion Drive is an optimized storage solution for Apple’s iMac and Mac mini desktops. Can mix fast SSD and standard HDD hard drive, provide SSD speed and bring the standard hard disk storage capacity.

Frequently accessed files are stored on the SSD, and files that are not frequently accessed are stored on a standard hard disk. Apple has also released the wind before, suggesting that will be in the future update to provide support. Today Federighi just confirms this matter.
