Bleu Jour launches ultra-mini PC KUBB Mini, Powered by Intel N100 processor
While the prevailing dimensions for mini PCs largely conform to Intel’s NUC specifications, measuring approximately 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm), for the French PC manufacturer Bleu Jour, this still seems a trifle expansive. Drawing from a report by Wccftech, they have recently introduced what is touted as the world’s smallest PC, the KUBB Mini, measuring a mere 8 x 8 cm.
The KUBB Mini is, in fact, the second iteration of the Bleu Jour KUBB product line. Its precise dimensions are 82.30 x 82.30 x 72.45mm. Upon affixing two diminutive WiFi antennas, its height slightly ascends from 72.45mm to 92.75mm.
A cursory glance at the KUBB Mini’s facade reveals its passive cooling design. Bleu Jour asserts that its enclosure is crafted from aluminum, with a copper base directly contacting the chip, ensuring optimal thermal performance. Worth noting, beyond its primary grey hue, the KUBB Mini is available in five additional vibrant and eye-catching shades, including vivacious red and orange.
Regarding its hardware configuration, the KUBB Mini is equipped with the Intel N100—a 6W processor that has become a familiar face among the low-power x86 devices we’ve recently covered. It operates on the Alder Lake-N architecture, with a 4c4t setup, and boasts a turbo boost speed of up to 3.4GHz. Given its compact stature, it unsurprisingly opts for onboard LPDDR5 memory. Bleu Jour offers users three variants: 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB. On the storage front, the KUBB Mini offers more flexibility. It can accommodate an M.2 SSD (presumably of the M.2 2230 specification) or utilize a MicroSD card as its primary storage.
In terms of I/O capabilities, the KUBB Mini PC is impressively comprehensive, boasting three USB 3.2 Type-A ports, two HDMI 2.0 outputs, an RJ45 jack, a 3.5mm audio port, and a USB Type-C port for power. Additionally, it features a MicroSD card reader on its side and supports both WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
Finally, addressing its price point, the KUBB Mini is currently being crowdfunded on Indiegogo. The foundational model, equipped with 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD, is priced at 235 euros. It is anticipated to commence shipping in December 2023.
