TSMC may OEM 5nm chips for Bitmain for cryptocurrency mining

Bitmain was established in 2013. Its products include computing power chips, computing power servers, and computing power clouds, which are mainly used in the field of blockchain and artificial intelligence.

Digitimes reported that TSMC has obtained an order from Bitmain and will use the 5nm process technology to produce chips for Bitmain for cryptocurrency mining. It is expected to start production in the third quarter.

The source reveals that Bitmain will soon release an Antminer E9 Ethereum (ETH) mining machine, which has a computing power of 3GH/s, an energy consumption ratio of 0.85J/M, and power of 2556W. According to the official, the computing power of this mining machine is equivalent to 32 RTX 3080 graphics cards, or 25 RTX 3090 graphics cards.
