Starlink will complete the test in October

SpaceX’s Starlink satellite network business will complete the BETA phase in October. By then, more countries and regions may be able to enjoy this service. Some netizens asked Elon Musk on Twitter when will Starlink complete the BETA phase and officially launch, Elon Musk simply responded with “next month”.

In fact, earlier, SpaceX planned to complete Starlink’s global coverage in September this year, which is now, but so far this service is basically limited to North America and parts of Europe. SpaceX’s next step is to expand Starlink to Mexico and Japan, but SpaceX has registered subsidiaries in other places such as South Africa and the Philippines, so in the future, these places may also be covered by Starlink.

In August, SpaceX announced that the shipment of Starlink terminals had reached 100,000 sets, which can be said to be a milestone. As Starlink officially completes the BETA phase and puts it into service, it is expected that the service will be expanded to more countries and regions, and the demand for terminals will also take off. Because Starlink’s main focus is low-latency high-speed network transmission, which is a good feature for many remote areas, but I don’t know if SpaceX’s terminal supply can keep up.

SpaceX is currently trying to reduce the cost of the Starlink terminal and plans to launch about 30,000 satellites for Starlink. It may be the use of the next-generation Starship heavy launch vehicle, or it may be a modification of the existing Falcon 9 rocket. In any case, what the effect of Starlink will be after it is officially put into service is also worth looking forward to.
