Phison will establish a long-term partnership with Seagate

Phison announced that it will strengthen cooperation with Seagate, and establish a long-term partnership to expand the next-generation high-performance, high-density enterprise NVMe SSD product lineup, and strengthen the layout of enterprise SSD product development and sales. Help enterprises reduce TCO (Total Cost Ownership) by increasing storage density, reducing power consumption and improving performance.

In Phison’s view, it has similar goals to Seagate in enterprise products. Strengthening the construction of storage infrastructure will enable comprehensive enterprise applications in hyperscale data centers, HPC, and AI. In fact, Phison and Seagate have cooperated on Seagate’s mainstream SATA SSD products since 2017, and then further expanded the scope of cooperation. Phison Electronics helped Seagate launch high-performance NVMe PCIe 4.0×4 gaming solid-state drives and the world’s first NAS-specific NVMe SSD.
Phison is proud to partner with Seagate to expand our enterprise SSD product line,” said Sebastien Jean, CTO of Phison Electronics. “Our leading in-house ASIC technology, coupled with engineering excellence, complements Seagate’s deep industry knowledge. In a show of commitment to this partnership, in 2020 we opened a development center in Broomfield, Colorado. Together, we will deliver winning solutions for a wide range of applications including Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Storage, and 5G edge computing.

In the future, Phison will work with Seagate to optimize and customize products for specific workloads, environments, and scenarios, to create high-performance, cost-effective, and efficient enterprise-level SSD products in the industry. Phison Electronics said that the two parties will announce more details of the cooperation in the summer of 2022.
