Microsoft confirms that Windows 10 has network and Start Menu tile problems

In the previous version of the update, some users encountered an abnormal network connection problem, which may be related to the abnormality of the Windows 10 network connection status indicator.

Even if there is a network connection, the indicator still shows that there is no network, causing some applications that rely on the indicator to directly display offline and cannot be used.

Currently, this problem has been fixed by Microsoft, but there is also a network problem related to virtual private networks, which may also affect some users.

Although Microsoft did not explain these issues in the support announcement, Microsoft has confirmed that these issues do exist in the beta update released.

Microsoft mentioned in the cumulative update of the beta version (KB4580364) that some users may have abnormal connections to the virtual private network after installing the cumulative update.

The main performance is that the authentication dialog box always pops up to prompt the user to enter the account password, and the virtual private network will automatically disconnect and cannot connect to the server.

Theme-aware tiles start menu

Many users have already given feedback on this issue in Microsoft’s official forums. After frequent disconnection, users cannot connect to the corporate intranet, which will affect the user. Therefore, Microsoft has fixed the problem in the beta update.

There should be quite a lot of users who have encountered this problem, and as far as we know, the problem has occurred for at least a few months rather than recently.

The performance is that part of the application tiles in the start menu is displayed in grey, and there is a progress bar at the bottom of the tiles to indicate that the application is being automatically updated.

Under normal circumstances, the automatic update of the application only takes a few seconds to complete, but the failure causes the user to always see the tile greyed out and prompt that it is updating.

Fortunately, this problem does not affect the user’s continued use of these applications, but the user may see some tiles turn gray every time the user opens the start menu.

This problem has also been fixed in the beta update. The above problem Microsoft will release a stable version of the fix update to all users on November 10.
