MediaTek launches Dimensity Auto automotive platform
MediaTek has announced the launch of its Dimensity Auto automotive platform, boasting a combination of high-performance computing capabilities, intelligent features, and open characteristics to accommodate the evolving demands of future smart vehicles.
Prior to this, MediaTek emphasized its extensive accumulation of technology in vehicle connectivity, intelligent cockpits, and crucial automotive components. The introduction of the Dimensity Auto automotive platform, integrating various vehicle technologies, will further enrich the automotive product portfolio, assisting automakers and partners in vehicle technology innovation.
The Dimensity Auto open system solutions encompass four aspects: Dimensity Auto Intelligent Cockpit, Dimensity Auto Vehicle Connectivity, Dimensity Auto Intelligent Driving, and Dimensity Auto Key Components.
The Dimensity Auto Intelligent Cockpit platform offers high-performance, seamless vehicle interaction interfaces, supporting up to eight display outputs and up to 8K 120Hz 10-bit color displays. Additionally, it can receive input from 16 camera lenses simultaneously via the ISP image processor, support HDR imagery, and output high-resolution audio through the HiFi5 DSP digital signal processor.
For Dimensity Auto Vehicle Connectivity, the platform accommodates a wealth of V2X connection applications, supports 5G connectivity below 6GHz, and offers multi-carrier aggregation capabilities. It can also be paired with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, satellites, and other communication technologies to enhance vehicle connectivity communication capabilities while improving wireless transmission stability through interference-resistant design.
As for the MediaTek Dimensity Auto Intelligent Driving platform, it leverages the APU design to enhance artificial intelligence computation and utilizes a scalable, highly open software and hardware architecture to expand intelligent driving technology application features. Furthermore, the Dimensity Auto Key Components aspect combines MediaTek’s power management chips, display driver chips, GNSS global satellite navigation systems, camera ISPs, and other critical components to improve the reliability of smart vehicle operations.
