MediaTek releases Dimensity 7200

MediaTek announced the launch of the Dimensity 7200, popularizing advanced technology for the mobile market. This is the first new platform of the MediaTek Dimensity 7000 series. It has advanced AI imaging functions, game optimization technology, and 5G connection speed. It also performs well in terms of energy efficiency, allowing terminal devices to achieve longer battery life.

The Dimensity 7200 is manufactured using TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process. The CPU part is a 2+6 architecture, including two large cores (Cortex-A715@2.8 GHz) and six small cores (Cortex-A510); the GPU is Arm Mali-G610, which brings fast response and high frame rate performance in the game; integrated AI processor APU 650, which improves AI computing efficiency while reducing AI application power consumption, and also supports AI camera enhancements such as real-time portrait beautification; support 6400Mbps LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 flash memory; MediaTek MiraVision 765 mobile display technology supports new HDR standards, including HDR10+, Dolby HDR, and CUVA HDR; supports Full HD+ resolution and 144Hz refresh rate.

Dimensity 7200 is equipped with MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0 game engine, which supports AI-VRS variable rendering, intelligent control, and other advanced technologies, which can reduce game power consumption, optimize battery life, and provide a smooth game experience; equipped with a 14-bit HDR-ISP image processor Imagiq 765, supports a 200-megapixel main camera, supports 4K HDR video recording, dual cameras can shoot FHD high-resolution video at the same time, and through the all-pixel autofocus technology to lock the focus at all times, at night or in low-light environments, the use of motion compensation temporal noise reduction technology can help users capture clearer images.

The new platform supports Bluetooth audio LE Audio, supports dual-link true wireless stereo audio; supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3; integrated 5G modem, integrated Sub-6GHz 5G modem, the downlink rate can reach 4.7Gbps, support 5G dual carrier aggregation, 5G dual card dual standby, and dual card VoNR; support MediaTek 5G UltraSave 2.0 power-saving technology, enabling 5G communication to achieve lower power consumption and longer battery life.
MediaTek stated that terminals equipped with the Dimensity 7200 mobile platform are expected to be available in the first quarter of 2023.
