Corning launches Gorilla Glass Victus with the strongest anti-scratch solutions
The product “Gorilla Glass” launched by American glass manufacturer, Corning is well-known. Almost all mainstream high-end flagship mobile phones use Corning’s Gorilla Glass as screen protection glass. At present, more than 8 billion devices worldwide have adopted Gorilla Glass’ products.
Gorilla Glass has always been known for its good anti-scratch and anti-drop cracking, but Corning has not done very well in both aspects, especially when full-screen mobile phones are popular. Large-screen mobile phones often break due to the user’s insecure hold.
Recently, Corning announced the launch of Gorilla Glass Victus, which is the first to significantly improve both drop resistance and scratch resistance. Unlike the previous generation of Gorilla Glass mentioned above, Gorilla Glass Victus has excellent drop and scratch resistance.
In Corning’s laboratory test session, Gorilla Glass Victus dropped freely from a height of two meters onto a hard and rough surface and still remained intact, that is, it did not break at all, while the aluminum-silicon of other competing brands, the glass shattered when the drop height was less than 0.8 meters.
Corning also gave a good answer to another performance. Victus Gorilla Glass’s scratch resistance is twice as strong as Corning’s sixth-generation Gorilla Glass.
Corning mentioned in the press release that Samsung will soon launch the first mobile phone using Gorilla Glass Victus, which is expected to be the Galaxy Note 20 series.
