Cloudflare announces 1.1.1.1 for Families to block malware and adult content

On April 1st, 2018, Cloudflare announced the launch of 1.1.1.1 public DNS service. Two years later, it has become the world’s second-largest public DNS resolver after Google.

On the day of April Fools’ Day this year, Cloudflare said that they received requests from home users who wanted to ensure that they had a certain degree of security threat protection and prevent children from accessing adult content. To this end, the team launched a DNS service extension called 1.1.1.1 for Families, adding a new DNS server IP address to the service and filtering it to automatically block certain requests.
