Ubuntu 18.10 has entered the Final Freeze phase
Canonical announced today that the upcoming Ubuntu 18.10 (Cosmic Cuttlefish) system is currently in the Final Freeze phase, which is the final stage before the final release. At this stage, the main check will affect the ISO image or installation bugs and errors, so that users can successfully install on various devices.
Of course, before the official release, Ubuntu engineers needed community help to test the ISO image. So in the next few days, the team will release a candidate image version, and other flavour versions will follow. Adam Conrad wrote in the mail log: “As of nowish, cosmic has entered the Final Freeze period in preparation for the final release of Ubuntu 18.10 next week. We will shut down cronjobs and spin some RC images late Friday or early Saturday once the archive and proposed-migration have settled a bit.”
