U.S. government will remove Xiaomi from the blacklist

After several months, Xiaomi reached a settlement with the US government. According to this agreement, Xiaomi can be completely removed from the blacklist.

Bloomberg reported that according to the contents of a recent document by the US court, the US Department of Defense has confirmed that the final order to remove Xiaomi from the blacklist is “appropriate.” The content mentioned that the parties have agreed on the way to resolve the lawsuit. In addition, there are some details that need to be finalized, which are currently underway and may be announced at a later date.

At the beginning of this year, the then U.S. President Trump included Xiaomi in the “blacklist” of the US Department of Defense for “endangering national security”. This means that American investors cannot invest in Xiaomi, nor can they conduct related transactions on American exchanges. Soon, Xiaomi filed the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Department of Treasury in the Columbia District Court, requesting the court to declare that the decision was illegal and demand to be revoked.

In March of this year, Xiaomi won a lawsuit in the district court. The court announced that the U.S. Department of Defense was banned from placing Xiaomi on the “blacklist”. The judge said that Xiaomi is likely to win a total revocation of the ban. For Xiaomi, there is a series of good news in the near future, including a series of newly released hot sales of products, the promotion of self-developed chips, investment in new energy vehicles, and European smartphone market share surpassing Apple, etc.
