MediaTek launches new mid-range 5G chip Dimensity 700

MediaTek recently announced the launch of the Dimensity 700, a new member of the Dimensity series of 5G chips. This new processor uses a 7-nanometer process technology and an 8-core architecture.

It can be seen from the naming that this processor is not MediaTek’s flagship processor. MediaTek launched this processor mainly for mid-range devices.

At present, 5G networks are being promoted globally, and the flagship 5G processors launched at the initial stage are expensive. This situation is not conducive to the rapid advancement of 5G network terminals.

According to MediaTek, the Dimensity 700 can allow more low-end devices to be equipped with 5G chips, allowing more consumers to purchase affordable devices to experience the 5G network.

The MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor uses an 8-core ARM Cortex-A76 architecture, including two large 2.2GHz cores and six small 2.0GHz cores.

The graphics rendering uses Mali-G57 MC2 with a main frequency of 950MHz, and 5G supports dual-carrier aggregation, dual card dual standby, and 5G VoNR.

The features supported by the Dimensity 700 5G processor include MediaTek’s power-saving technology, which uses more advanced energy-saving technologies to reduce 5G power consumption and improve battery life.

It can also only detect the network environment, content recognition, dynamic bandwidth adjustment, and energy-saving management, allowing users to use 5G while bringing longer battery life.

The processor also supports a 90Hz screen refresh rate, supports high-definition resolution FHD+ display and high refresh rate, etc., bringing a smooth visual experience to end-users.

The camera supports up to 64 MP cameras and night shooting enhancement functions, with AI depth of field, AI coloring, and AI beauty functions, and supports multi-frame noise reduction.

Finally, this processor is also compatible with a variety of voice assistant services, and manufacturers can flexibly configure voice assistants such as Google, Amazon, and Alibaba according to their needs.
