Android source code to add Fuchsia SDK and Fuchsia device support

The Android and Fuchsia systems are now more closely linked, and today the official Fuchsia SDK and a Fuchsia “device” have been integrated into Android AOSP code. In the new submission of Gerrit source code management released to Android yesterday, two repo related to Fuchsia has been added to the manifest of the Android open source project.

There are already a number of different versions of manifest in AOSP, including the only version required to download the build and run it on the Android emulator. This manifest is the default manifest for standard AOSP downloads. This means that every person who downloads AOSP will download these two repos related to Fuchsia.

The two “Fuchsia” repos in AOSP are currently empty, which means we just guess their future use by their names. The first repo ” platform/prebuilts/fuchsia_sdk” clearly shows that this is the official software development kit (also known as the SDK) that Google plans to use to develop Fuchsia software. Soon we will reveal more details of the Fuchsia SDK, so stay tuned.
