  • Minisforum released high performance mini PC, EliteMini HX90: Equipped with Ryzen 9 5900HX

Last month, Minisforum posted a notice on its official account, showing a rendering of a motherboard equipped with AMD Ryzen APU, but did not specify the specific model. At that time, some people speculated that Minisforum was about to launch a Mini-PC equipped with Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors.

Today Minisforum announced that EliteMini HX90 will be available for pre-sale in its official online store. AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX will be used. It is designed for users who need high-performance Mini-PCs. It is believed to be a long-awaited product by many people. Ryzen 9 5900HX is an APU based on the Zen 3 architecture, with 8 cores and 16 threads, a base frequency of 3.3 GHz, and an acceleration frequency of 4.6 GHz. It is manufactured using TSMC’s 7nm process. The “X” suffix represents this product’s overclocking capability.

EliteMini HX90 can support 64GB dual-channel DDR4-3200 memory, provides a 2280 M.2 slot to support PCIe SSD, and two 2.5-inch hard disk slots (7mm/SATA 3.0 6.0Gb/s), pre-installed with Intel AX200 Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 adapter. It provides two HDMI ports and two DisplayPort ports, both of which support 4K@60Hz output, in addition to a 2.5G network card port, five USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C port, etc.

Minisforum stated that the body of EliteMini HX90 is made of carbon fiber material, with grainy texture on the surface, which is fashionable. The main structural parts and the black part of the fuselage are made of carbon fiber composite injection molding. As a new recyclable material, carbon fiber has very high strength and has good thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance.
Currently, EliteMini HX90 is pre-installed with Windows 10, Minisforum has confirmed that it will be compatible with upgrading to Windows 11 in the future. Since EliteMini HX90 can support up to four 4K@60Hz outputs at the same time, it is also very suitable for users who need multi-screen output.
  • The first Mini-PCs equipped with AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX will be available soon

At the beginning of this year, after AMD released the Ryzen 5000 series of mobile processors, it has been widely used in the notebook computer market. Different from the previous generation, even the top gaming laptops will use Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors. Compared with the rapid advancement of mobile platforms, another applicable scenario is the Mini-PC market. Products equipped with Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors have not even been seen.

Intel’s NUC series products have already become popular in the Mini-PC market and have matured, but many users still hope that manufacturers can launch products equipped with AMD processors. It’s a pity that half a year has passed, and the Ryzen 4000 series mobile processors currently available on the market are still used. However, this situation seems to change soon. Recently, Morefine Focus and Minisforum have announced that they will launch Mini-PCs equipped with Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors.

Morefine Focus’s Mini-PC is called S500+, uses AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, has 8 cores and 16 threads, and has a frequency of 4.6 GHz. It is the top model in the entire Zen 3 architecture APU product line code-named Cezanne. The Mini-PC can be configured with up to 32GB of DDR4-3200 memory or up to 4266 MT/s of LPDDR4 memory. It also provides two M.2 2280 SATA/NVMe slots and a 2.5-inch hard drive for easy expansion. It is also equipped with Wi-Fi 6 wireless network card and supports Bluetooth 5.0, provides DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 output, and has two network ports (one of which supports a 2.5G network card)

In addition, Minicforum, which focuses on Mini-PC, also issued a notice on its official Twitter, showing a rendering of a motherboard equipped with AMD Ryzen APU, but did not specify the specific model.

Neither Morefine Focus nor Minisforum has confirmed the price of Mini-PC equipped with Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors.
