Statistics show Windows 11 growth has stalled

Windows 11 has been controversial for not supporting older processors and requiring a Trusted Platform Module, but Microsoft has no idea of changing the hardware requirements. At present, users can still bypass Microsoft restrictions by modifying the registry and deleting files to install Windows 11 on unsupported devices. In the past, the market share of new versions of Windows 10 has soared rapidly through active updates, but the situation with Windows 11 is different.

Statistics show that the growth rate of the Windows 11 system has stagnated, and the system’s share in March 2022 increased by only 0.01% compared to February. In February 2022, Windows 11’s market share was 19.3%, an increase of 3.2% from 16.1% in January 2022, and the share was only 19.4% in March.

The main reason for the stagnant growth is the incompatibility of older hardware. On incompatible devices, Microsoft will not actively push installations and thus the adoption rate will not increase. As far as the current situation is concerned, users will install the Windows 11 system when they replace the new hardware or the hardware itself will be supported. Therefore, the market share of the Windows 11 system should be maintained at around 20% in a short period of time, and it is unlikely that there will be a very significant increase. Interestingly, Microsoft has recently added various new features to the development version, which is very attractive, and the number of users who use the development version has doubled.
