Samsung is preparing to launch a foldable tablet

According to Sammobile, Samsung may launch its first foldable tablet on the same day as the Galaxy Tab S9 series., but there is very little information about it. According to Samsung’s schedule, these products may be released within the next six months, at the latest in January or February next year. At the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event, it’s unknown if Samsung will show off the foldable tablet.

Samsung has been developing foldable display technology for the past ten years and has obtained several patents. With each iteration, new products will do better and the technology will become more and more mature. Samsung has demonstrated its folding screen technology many times in the past, including different sizes and ways of folding. Samsung showed off two conceptual folding screen phones, the Flex S and G, at CES 2022 earlier this year.

It’s unclear which direction the screen of Samsung’s first foldable tablet will go. In theory, a folding like the Flex S is more practical, because it can still be used when folded, but the screen is smaller. No matter which folding method is adopted, the basic principle is the same, which is to provide a larger display area through a more compact shape.
