Razer releases Zephyr Pro mask with voice amplification

With the long-lasting COVID-19 epidemic, wearing masks in daily life has become the norm. At the CES 2021 exhibition last year, Razer announced a concept mask called Project Hazel, which eventually became a mass-produced retail product, which was officially launched in October last year. Regrettably, the final retail product lacks voice amplification.

In this year’s CES 2022 exhibition, Razer has made further improvements to the original Zephyr masks and added the speaker function. Two speaker grilles are located on both sides of the bottom to amplify the voice of users wearing masks. According to TomsHardware, this new product is called Zephyr Pro. The current starting price of Zephyr is $99.99, and the starting price of Zephyr Pro will be $149.99.

Razer said that the weight of the new product is only heavier than the old one, and other aspects have not been changed too much, and the previous design is still used. Like Zephyr, Zephyr Pro is an “N95 medical grade” respirator that can block up to 99% of particles below 0.3 microns. The mask is a waterproof and scratch-resistant shell made of recycled plastic, using a removable and rechargeable active ventilator and a high bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) smart cabin, which can adjust the airflow to obtain the best ventilation effect.

If the user is in the dark, the internal lighting of the mask will be automatically activated, and it can be used with Razer Chroma RGB lighting effects. In order to power the fans and lights, the Razer Zephyr has a battery that can be charged through the USB Type-C port.
