This Month’s Patch Tuesday Events While releasing cumulative updates for Windows 10 systems, Microsoft also released a monthly update rollup for Windows 7 / 8.1 and Windows Server 2008/2012. If you are still using WIndows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, you can download the KB4048957 update from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
KB4048957 update main fix as follows:
● Fixed an issue where the .xls file based on the Microsoft JET Database engine (under Microsoft Access 2007 or other non-Microsoft applications) was creating or opening Microsoft Excel. The error message is: “Unexpected error from external database driver (1). (Microsoft JET Database Engine).”
● Security Update for Microsoft Windows Search Component, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows kernel-mode drivers, Windows Media Player, and Windows kernel.
If you are using Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2, you will get the KB4048958 update with the following updates:
● Fix the problem that the virtual smart card can not access the Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
● Fixed an issue where the .xls file based on the Microsoft JET Database engine (under Microsoft Access 2007 or other non-Microsoft applications) was creating or opening Microsoft Excel. The error message is: “Unexpected error from external database driver (1). (Microsoft JET Database Engine).”
● Fixed a crash when Internet Explorer used larger fonts
● Fixed a situation that caused the SharePoint Online site to not work in Internet Explorer
● Security Update for Microsoft Windows Search Component, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows kernel-mode drivers, Windows Media Player, and Windows kernel.
