Motorola X30 Pro will use a 1/1.22-inch sensor for the main camera

Recently, the camera war of the Android ecosystem has intensified. The just-launched Mi 12S Ultra uses the IMX989 sensor that Xiaomi and Sony cooperated with. The 1-inch sensor main camera has attracted many potential users who have higher requirements for shooting. Motorola is about to launch the X30 Pro, which has been confirmed to use a 1/1.22-inch sensor.

According to Sammobile, although the source did not reveal which sensor the Motorola X30 Pro uses, the specs match Samsung’s ISOCELL HP1 sensor. Before that, it was rumored that Motorola would use a 200MP sensor made by Samsung on its flagship phone in 2022, and Motorola’s official preview also showed that the new model will focus on taking pictures. In addition, the X30 Pro will also be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ platform, equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED hyperboloid screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz, a built-in 4500mAh battery, and support for 125W fast charging.

Samsung released the ISOCELL HP1 last year, the industry’s first 200MP pixel sensor that supports four-pixel (2×2) in one and sixteen-pixel (4×4) in one technology, which can be made to simulate a large pixel sensor, so that it can take better photos in dim environments. Meanwhile, the ISOCELL HP1 sensor is capable of recording 8K video at 30fps or 4K video at 120fps. It has technologies such as dual super PD focusing, interlaced HDR, and Smart-ISO Pro.

Recently, Samsung also released the ISOCELL HP3 sensor with the same 200MP pixel, which has the industry’s smallest 0.56μm pixel, which is 12% smaller than the 0.64μm pixel of the ISOCELL HP1 sensor. It is said that the Galaxy S23 Ultra launching next year may use the ISOCELL HP3 sensor.
