Microsoft decided to migrate “Minecraft” to the Azure cloud computing platform

The well-known game Minecraft was developed by Mojang Studio, but the Mojang Studio was previously acquired by Microsoft at a large cost, so the game is now owned by Microsoft.

What’s interesting is that Minecraft has used Amazon Web Services over the years, and Microsoft is currently competing fiercely with Amazon in the cloud computing field.

So when will Minecraft migrate to Microsoft’s own Microsoft Azure platform has attracted much attention, until today Microsoft announced the completion of the migration before the end of the year. The services currently used by Minecraft include Amazon EC2, Amazon EBS, and Amazon RDS.

In addition, Minecraft also uses Amazon S3 for object storage and backup, and Amazon ELB for load balancing to distribute incoming requests.

In fact, Minecraft has been migrating services from Amazon to Microsoft Azure in the past few years, but this phase has not completed all service migrations so far.

Today the Mojang Studio announced that if there are no accidents, the migration will be completed by the end of this year when Minecraft will run on the cloud computing platform provided by Microsoft.
