Microsoft announced a redesigned Notepad for Windows 11 Insiders

The latest article on Microsoft’s official blog introduces the redesigned Notepad program. The new version of Notepad will be pushed to all Windows 11 Insiders in the Dev Channel users from now on.

Users of the Windows 11 Insiders version can go to the Microsoft Store to download and install the redesigned Notepad program.

The new Notepad application has a new setting interface for adjusting fonts and other settings, and it also supports dark mode, which can be adapted according to the Windows 11 system settings.

At the same time, the new version also uses mica dynamic materials for design, so it has the same style as Windows 11, such as partial transparency and new context menus.

In the blog, Microsoft emphasized that this update of the Notepad program adopts feedback from community users, including a redesigned find and replace experience and multi-level cancellation support.

Multi-level undo allows users to undo multiple changes without manually searching and operating, which is very convenient for users who often use Notepad to write content.

The new find and replace experience allows users to search for keywords through a new dialog box. After searching, it also supports single replacement or direct batch replacement.

The dark mode is naturally also one of the features that community users strongly request to increase, so in this update, the dark mode also officially arrives.

By default, Notepad automatically sets the dark or light mode according to the system settings. If the user needs it, you can also manually switch the mode in the settings.

At present, the new version of the Notepad application is still being tested, so only the development version users can use it. After the test is completed, it is expected that Notepad will be released to the stable version channel soon.
