Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold goes on sale

In September 2022, Lenovo unveiled its latest innovation: the Thinkpad X1 Fold, an exquisite foldable-screen laptop. This avant-garde device boasts a 16.3-inch OLED display that elegantly folds and comes equipped with a magnetic keyboard and stylus, offering a versatile array of user modes primarily for consummate professionals who require portability. Recently, Lenovo has proudly announced the global release of this sophisticated product, starting at $2,499.

The cutting-edge Thinkpad X1 Fold from Lenovo features a 16.3-inch OLED folding screen with a resolution of 2560×2024 and an aspect ratio of 4:3. It achieves a luminous zenith of 600 nits with HDR and boasts a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, framed by a slender 8mm bezel. The accompanying magnetic keyboard can be adroitly attached in various orientations, transforming the device into a 12-inch conventional laptop when the screen is folded and the keyboard affixed to the lower half of the screen.

Crafted with a magnesium-aluminum alloy shell and enveloped in a high-performance woven fabric made entirely from recycled PET, the svelte Thinkpad X1 Fold weighs in at approximately 1.3kg. Its silhouette measures a mere 8.6mm in tablet form and 17.4mm when folded. Despite its lithe frame, it is powerfully configured with up to an Intel 12th generation Core i7-1260U processor, Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics, 32GB of LPDDR5-5200 memory, and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 solid-state drive. It also harbors a 48Wh battery and a 65W power adapter, along with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps) port, and a nano-SIM card slot.

It is noteworthy that the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Fold eschews a built-in cooling fan in favor of a heat spreader, a design choice made in pursuit of a sleek, portable form factor that ensures dust resistance and silent operation.
