IBM releases open source IBM Cloud Pak for security

IBM recently released Cloud Pak, a large open-source security platform that provides enterprise users with a cross-system, cross-cloud, cross-platform threat detection, data analysis, risk assessment and rapid decision response that integrates IBM and third-party security platform tools.

IBM writes:

IBM Cloud Pak for Security is a platform that integrates your existing security tools to offer deeper insights into threats across hybrid multicloud environments, using an infrastructure-independent common operating environment that runs anywhere. Security teams can quickly search for threats and orchestrate response with automated actions—without moving the underlying data.

In addition open-source, another big selling point for Cloud Pak is that enterprise users do not need to move local data when using the platform, and users can also search and analyze data from multiple data sources on this platform.

As enterprise digitalization deepens, more and more enterprise applications and data are distributed in heterogeneous environments of public, private, and local systems, protecting these increasingly fragmented IT infrastructure and data for enterprise security teams. It’s a tough challenge, and IBM’s Cloud Pak security platform is aimed at this pain point.
