Alienware celebrates its 25th anniversary, Aurora series products will be redesigned

Alienware was founded in 1996 to provide the most powerful PC. Its Aurora series products are not only powerful, but most of them have a super cool appearance and high recognition. At the beginning of 2006, Dell Computer acquired Alienware and became its own enthusiast hardware brand, complementing the original high-performance XPS series. This matter attracted widespread attention at the time and there are special reasons. Dell Computer introduced the then strong AMD processor into its product line by virtue of the acquisition of Alienware.

According to TomsHardware, Alienware celebrated its 25th anniversary and decided to redesign the Aurora series of products. A new design will be adopted when the next-generation Aurora series is released. This time, more industry standard components and layouts will be adopted. For example, the current Aurora series uses a swing-out power supply (including some XPS desktops). Although it looks convenient, it is difficult to upgrade. It is rumored that the new Aurora series will not do it, but it is not sure whether it is a standard ATX power supply.

The new Aurora series looks similar to the existing products in appearance and adopts the same design style. The overall size is 589 x 510 x 225 mm, and the weight is 15.5 kg, which is significantly larger than the Alienware Aurora R10. Its internal space is 1.5 times that of existing products, and the optional transparent side panel allows users to see the situation inside the case. In the past, the Aurora series had four RGB lighting effect areas. This time the models equipped with transparent side panels can have up to eight. Also on the back of the case, there will be a new cable cover.

Alienware did not talk too much about the hardware configuration. It coincides with Intel’s upcoming 12th-generation Core series processors with many new features. This is a good opportunity. It is said that the new host can be equipped with up to four 120mm fans and an optional integrated water-cooled radiator. Alienware said that the cooling system of the new host is not only quieter but also has higher cooling efficiency.

Alienware is likely to announce a new generation of the Aurora series later this year, and more details will be announced at that time.
