Asus introduces Zenbook 17 Fold OLED: The World’s First 17″ Foldable Laptop

Recently, ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED (UX9702) has been unveiled at IFA 2022, which is a laptop with a folding screen.

To create this future-proof device, ASUS and Intel collaborated on an industry-first solution to advance innovation in the foldable product category, letting users achieve the ideal balance between mobility and productivity in modern life. The Intel Evo-certified foldable laptop offers users two sizes, a 4:3 17.3-inch 2.5K touchscreen and two 3:2 12.5-inch 1920 x 1280 displays. When its 180° hinge is fully folded (the hinge has been tested to withstand 30,000 openings and closings), it is a compact portable device weighing 1.5kg (without keyboard) / 1.8kg (including keyboard).

The flexible OLED screen used in the UX9702 is exclusively supplied by BOE, and it is the largest flexible OLED foldable terminal product that can be mass-produced globally. Its screen ratio is as high as 95.87%, it has passed the TÜV Rheinland eye protection certification, the refresh rate is 60Hz, the response time is 0.2ms, the DCI-P3 color gamut is 100%, it supports Dolby Vision, and it has obtained the Pantone color certification.


Users can pair the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED with the Asus ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard and touchpad for multiple or versatile usage modes. With the smart window management feature and exclusive mode switcher app in ASUS ScreenXpert 3, it is also possible to expand or split into multiple windows and arrange content.

Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is equipped with Intel’s 12th generation Core i7-1250U mobile processor; with 16GB LPDDR5 memory and 1TB PCIe SSD; equipped with two Thunderbolt 4 ports; equipped with HD 3DNR webcam, supporting ASUS 3D noise reduction technology and AI noise reduction technology; the battery capacity is 75Wh; it is equipped with a Harman Kardon-certified audio system that supports Dolby Atmos.

Asus says the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED will be available in the fourth quarter of this year, with a suggested retail price of $3499.99
