Windows Server version 1709 will be unveiled at the September Ignite Conference

Windows Server today announced the blog, Microsoft confirmed that the next version of the server operating system marked as Windows Server v1709 will be officially released at the Ignite 2017 conference. It is reported that the version will pay more attention to application innovation and security performance, through two identical channels to synchronize release version update.

 

The long-term service channel (LTSC) usually provides five years of mainstream support, providing five years of extended support. The user can choose to upgrade only the next LTSC version every 2 to 3 years. If you want a faster version update and enjoy new features faster, users can choose the Semi-annual Channel, which can enjoy the benefits of software assurance and fully support productivity. The difference is that the support period is 18 months and the new version is released every 6 months.
