Wii Power showcases 340W GaN charger for laptops at Computex

The first impression of a gallium nitride charger should be fast charging, small size, and high power. However, according to techpowerup reports, at this year’s Taipei Computer Show, a manufacturer called Wii Power showed a 340W ultra-high-power gallium nitride charger, but it was accompanied by its huge size.

It is understood that this 340W GaN charger is mainly used for notebook computers, with a measurement size of 150 × 86 × 34mm, which is larger than most of the power adapters for notebook computers on the market, however, from the looks of it, this should not be the final product. In addition, it can provide up to 20V and 17A of current through a fixed power cord. This gallium nitride charger is also very good in compatibility, and also provides a USB-C interface that supports the USB PD charging standard with a maximum power of 45W.

In addition, Wii Power also showed another charger with a total output power of 240W at Computex. The main USB-C interface can provide 140W charging power and supports the USB PD 3.1 standard, while the other auxiliary USB-C interface is 100W charging power can be provided. Interestingly, the company has specially designed an adapter that allows two high-power ports to be combined into a 240W output port for charging more demanding laptops.

Not only that, but this 240W charger also provides a third USB-C interface and a fourth USB-A interface, but the power is limited, only 30W, mainly used for mobile phones or other peripheral products. It is worth mentioning that its measurements are 130x80x32mm, which is quite compact considering the maximum probability and functionality it supports. Of course, it will take some time before such a product is finally launched.
