Ubuntu 17.10 “Artful Aardvark” first beta release


According to  Ubuntu 17.10 release schedule, Ubuntu 17.10 first beta released on time. However, this version of the test does not have the official version of Ubuntu (to try to consider the day to build ISO), including Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu Budgie, Ubuntu Kylin, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu Studio, and Xubuntu these flavor version.

According to the official, the official version only participates in the final beta of the development cycle. Following the official release schedule, the final beta will be released on September 28 (using the GNOME desktop environment).

Beta 1 contains a lot of software updates that can be used for a wide range of tests. But after all, is the early mirror, so inevitably there will be some bug.

  • Kubuntu 17.10 Beta 1 uses KDE Plasma 5.10, KDE Applications 17.04.3, and defaults to X.Org session.
  • Ubuntu Budgie 17.10 Beta 1 has a variety of updated GNOME and Budgie desktop packages and other desktop style enhancements.
  • Ubuntu MATE 17.10 has been working on the new HUD (Head-Up Display) feature, super key support, global menu improvements, and so on.
