Toshiba unveils N300 Pro and X300 Pro HDDs: Up to 18TB capacity, workload 300TB/year

Toshiba announces the launch of the N300 Pro and X300 Pro series HDDs, offering up to 18TB capacity, 300TB/year workloads, and a five-year limited warranty. Toshiba said that the new products are aimed at enterprises and creative people, respectively, to provide high-performance and high-reliability storage products.

Toshiba said that as the work environment continues to evolve and change, professionals need storage solutions that are reliable and have sufficient performance to keep up with the demands and workflows of new projects, the N300 Pro series launched this time is aimed at medium and large enterprises with high-intensity workloads, while the X300 Pro series supports content creation by professionals.

The N300 Pro and X300 Pro series are built around Toshiba’s innovative HDD technology, combining Toshiba’s Cache Technology and Stable Platter Technology (capacity ≥ 10TB), and FC-MAMR technology (capacity 18TB) to provide a leading-edge solution for both advanced consumers and professionals.

The N300 Pro and X300 Pro series are available in 4TB, 6TB, 8TB, 10TB, 12TB, 14TB, 16TB and 18TB capacities, spin at 7200 RPM, and feature CMR technology. Among them, 10TB, 12TB, 14TB, 16TB, and 18TB apply Toshiba’s unique laser welding helium-sealed design to achieve low power consumption and low noise. The N300 Pro series hard drives are designed for 7×24 use and optimized for NAS systems with RAID, with a MTTF of 1.2 million hours. The X300 Pro series hard drives are aimed at desktop workstations, high-end PCs, and high-workload PCs, with an MTTF of 1 million hours.
