The power consumption of GeForce RTX 4060 has been increased to 220W

Recently, there has been more and more news about the GeForce RTX 40 series. It is said that the first batch of graphics cards based on the Ada Lovelace architecture should have three models, namely GeForce RTX 4090/RTX 4080/RTX 4070. More players are paying more attention to the GeForce RTX 4060.
Recently, Twitter user @kopite7kimi brought information about the GeForce RTX 4060. It is said that its TDP will reach 220W, which is higher than the current GeForce RTX 3070 based on the Ampere architecture. In fact, Nvidia has been increasing the TDP of the GeForce x60/x70 series in recent years, and the price has also risen. It is still uncertain how much performance will be improved with the increase in power consumption.

In addition, Wccftech said that Nvidia has updated the release time of the GeForce RTX 40 series, and the GeForce RTX 4090 is expected to be released in October 2022; the GeForce RTX 4080 will be released in November 2022; the GeForce RTX 4070 will be released in December 2022; the GeForce RTX 4060 will have to wait until the CES show in January 2023.

Recently, Igor’s LAB also released a PCB design of the GeForce RTX 4090, which is similar to the existing GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. It is said that the GeForce RTX 4090 will have two PCB designs, namely PG139 and PG136. The PG139 is used for the V-shaped design of the Founders Edition graphics card, and the PG136 is a rectangular design for general graphics cards, which is cheaper and has a wider range of use.

The PCB design of the GeForce RTX 4090 shows that the new graphics card still has four display outputs, namely three DP and one HDMI. Since NV-Link still exists on the PCB design, it can basically be determined as GeForce RTX 4090. Nvidia provides a 16Pin PCIe 5.0 power supply interface on the GeForce RTX 4090, but cannot confirm its specific power consumption. It is rumored that the top model of the new generation of graphics cards may be as high as 600W.

Igor’s LAB also provided a project timeline for the AD102, with mass production expected in August, coinciding with the GeForce RTX 4090 release.
