In order to adapt to the high-speed data transfer rate of 6400Mbps, SK hynix has applied a new component called CKD (Clock Driver) to achieve more reliable operation. SK hynix is equipped with CKD for the first time in the industry and provides samples to customer-based system manufacturers for evaluation.

SK hynix also announced its financial report for the third quarter of fiscal 2022 ended September 30, 2022. It shows that due to the deterioration of the global macroeconomic environment, the demand for DRAM and NAND products is sluggish, and both sales and prices have declined, so both revenue and profit have declined.

The financial report shows that the revenue was 10.983 trillion won ($7.726 billion), a decrease of 20% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 7%; the operating profit was 1.656 trillion won ($1.165 billion), down 61% month-on-month and 60% year-on-year; net profit was 1.103 trillion won ($776 million), down 62% month-on-month and 67% year-on-year. Among them, the operating profit margin is 15%, and the net profit margin is only 10%.

SK hynix expects that the oversupply situation in the market will continue for some time, so it decided to reduce the scale of investment next year by 50% or more, which is estimated to be around 10 trillion won. SK hynix said that in the future, it plans to focus on products with relatively low profits and reduce production, which means to maintain a low level of investment for a certain period of time and waiting for the market to restore the balance of supply and demand.
