Seagate Releases 20TB SkyHawk AI Hard Drive: Priced at $529.99
Seagate announced the launch of the 20TB SkyHawk AI surveillance hard drive, which met the heavy workloads required by AI video imagery and analysis systems to process and analyze up to 64 HD video streams and 32 AI streams. Seagate said that this series of products is designed for AI-enabled network video recorders (NVRs) in edge security applications, and can adapt to users’ AI environment expansion.
It is understood that this 20TB SkyHawk AI surveillance hard drive is built with ImagePerfect AI firmware, which can achieve zero frame loss while supporting heavy workloads. As an enterprise-class hard disk, it has very high reliability, with a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 2 million hours and a rated workload of 550TB/year, which is more than three times that of ordinary hard disks of the same type. Seagate also paired the hard drive with SkyHawk health management tools, which can monitor the usage environment and provide recommendations when necessary, allowing users to take proactive defensive measures to keep data safe. Seagate also provides three years of data recovery service support, allowing users to recover data in the event of accidental data loss due to power outages or other errors.
Seagate said that the 20TB SkyHawk AI Hard Drive has been tested and certified by partners at the beginning of this year, and its reliability has been verified. Seagate will start shipping in volume this month for $529.99.
