Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 series will be equipped with three 8Pin external power supply

Sapphire is one of the core partners of AMD graphics cards. It recently started a promotional campaign for the new Radeon RX 7900 series products. It has previously shared screenshots of promotional videos of the new products on its Twitter accounts. What it shows is its most popular gaming graphics card product NITRO series, equipped with three fan cooling systems, a silver-gray radiator cover, and LED light strips on the edges, emitting pink RGB lighting effects.

Recently, Sapphire shared more details of the new Radeon RX 7900 NITRO series products, saying that “Vapor-X is back”. The new graphics card will use vapor chamber technology, covering GPU and memory chips, and will be equipped with three 8Pin external power supply interfaces.

Vapor-X is a sub-brand used by Sapphire in 2014 and earlier, and its related Radeon graphics card uses vapor chamber technology, which has better heat dissipation performance. This design was rare at the time, and it was also equipped with a relatively large power supply system and cooling module at the time to further improve performance. Since the information released this time also bears the label of the NITRO series, I don’t know whether Sapphire is implying the return of the Vapor-X series, or whether the NITRO series products will use vapor chamber technology.

The Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics cards based on the new generation of RDNA 3 architecture GPUs will go on sale on December 13, 2022. The suggested retail prices are $999 and $899, respectively. According to the latest news, in addition to the public version of the first Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards, there may also be non-public products of Sapphire, XFX, and PowerColor, while the non-public products of other brands will be delayed by 1 to 2 weeks.
