Samsung unveils 55-inch Odyssey Ark curved gaming monitor

Samsung announced the launch of the Odyssey Ark gaming monitor, the world’s first 55-inch 1000R curved gaming monitor, adding a strong addition to the Odyssey product lineup. Samsung says the new gaming monitor will raise the bar across the industry with its combination of great picture quality, immersive surround sound, and everything gamers demand.

At the CES 2022 exhibition earlier this year, Samsung exhibited the Odyssey Ark gaming monitor. It is equipped with a 55-inch Quantum Mini-LED curved display with a curvature of 1000R, a resolution of 4K (3840 x 2160), a refresh rate of 165Hz, and a response time of 1ms (GtG), and supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Through the equipped exclusive controller, users can quickly realize operations such as moving windows, multiple views, quick settings, and opening the game toolbar. Users can also easily view the game status and adjust various settings of the Odyssey Ark through the Game Bar.

Samsung says the matte display on the Odyssey Ark gaming monitor offers anti-glare and anti-reflective protection to minimize distractions. It comes with four speakers (distributed in the four corners) and two woofers, and introduces “Sound Dome Tech” with AI Sound Booster and Dolby Atmos to enhance the surround sound experience. The monitor also comes with the Game Hub interface, the Gaming Hub, an all-in-one game streaming platform where users can enjoy games from partners including Xbox, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Google Stadia, Utomik, and Amazon Luna.

This gaming monitor features a height-adjustable stand with swivel, tilt, and swivel capabilities, and even displays in a vertical orientation, allowing users to get the best angle of use, plus a VESA mount for wall mounting. The Odyssey Ark gaming monitor is currently available for pre-order, priced at $3,500.
