Samsung mass produces 90Hz OLED laptop screens

For players who like to play games with laptops, there is good news, that Samsung officially mass-produces laptop screens with a 90Hz refresh rate. Samsung said a few days ago that it has officially started mass production of 90Hz OLED laptop screens, and some of the latest 14-inch notebooks launched by Asus will be the first batch of products to use these OLED screens.

In a statement, Samsung stated:

The 90Hz OLED panel offers more options for consumers who are looking to enjoy high-performance content on their laptops. With our innovative OLEDs, we’re further pioneering and leading the market in display technologies that offer superior image quality.

Samsung announced as early as January this year that it will soon begin mass production of OLED panels, but no detailed partners were listed at the time. At the same time, Samsung also said that OLED panels can meet consumers’ needs for remote office, online education, video streaming, and games using laptops.

The 90Hz refresh rate does not seem to be enough for games. Compared to the current mainstream 144Hz, 90Hz is indeed a bit lower, but one thing to consider is that this time the 90Hz refresh rate is an OLED screen. The OLED screen basically has no smear, which also makes up for the regret that the refresh rate of these OLED panels is not very high.
