Rumor: AMD will release Navi 24 in 2022Q1 to compete with GeForce RTX 3050 series
Navi 24 is the lowest-positioned GPU in the Navi 20 series and the last member. The core of this code-named Beige Goby will update AMD’s entry-level graphics product line. Compared to the mid-to-high-end product line, AMD’s low-end graphics cards still use a relatively old architecture and have not been updated for some time.
According to Wccftech reports, AMD will further expand its Radeon RX 6000 series product line in the first quarter of 2022, launching an entry-level graphics card based on the Navi 24 core. The desktop version of the TGP will be between 100W and 120W, higher than the previously rumored 75W. The product equipped with Navi 24 core belongs to the Radeon RX 6500 series. The competitors are the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 series and Intel’s entry-level ARC brand graphics card.
It is said that although the Navi 24 core is small, only half of the Navi 23 core, the frequency may be higher, even reaching 2.8 GHz or above. It is expected that Navi 24 will be equipped with 16 CUs, 1024 stream processors, 16MB infinite cache, 1MB L2 cache, and 128KB L1 cache. The memory width is 64 bits and it is equipped with 4GB of GDDR6 memory. In addition, there may be Radeon RX 6400 series graphics cards that use Navi 24 cores.
