Reports say Apple and LG Display are testing iPad Pros and MacBooks with foldable screens
The Elec reported that Apple is collaborating with LG Display to test foldable screens for future iPads and MacBooks, as well as corresponding ultra-thin, foldable screen glass designs. Prior to this, Lenovo’s previously launched foldable laptop ThinkPad X1 Fold had a foldable screen provided by LG Display, corresponding to a 13.3-inch design.
According to Ross Young, the co-founder, and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, in his recent remarks, he said that the foldable notebook design that Apple is currently testing uses a 20-inch foldable screen design. In addition, it may also be used as a future iPad Pro product design, allowing users to turn the screen into a large-size screen use mode after flattening the screen, and it can be used as a notebook computer in the case of folding, and it corresponds to a display resolution design above 4K.
It is not yet confirmed whether Apple plans to launch models with foldable screens in the market, but it is expected that such products will not enter the market until at least 2025.
As for Lenovo and Asus, which have already announced the screen foldable laptops, HP seems to intend to launch products with similar designs next.
