Qualcomm releases Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform

Qualcomm has previously announced that its Snapdragon brand will develop independently, that is, the new generation of flagship processors will no longer be named Snapdragon 898, but will be renamed Snapdragon 8 Gen1. Now it is finally here. At the Snapdragon Tech Summit held today, Qualcomm officially launched a new generation of mobile platforms: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform is built by Samsung’s 4nm process and has a “1+3+4” structure. Qualcomm said this processor is the most powerful mobile platform so far and will be put into commercial use at the end of December this year. In addition, Qualcomm also pointed out that this chip has been greatly upgraded in areas such as performance, power consumption, games, photography, video, connection speed, and music performance.

As Qualcomm’s current most powerful 5G mobile platform, the SoC uses the brand new Qualcomm X65 5G baseband, which can reach a speed of 10Gbps, which is the 10G level. From the official description, the SoC integrates FastConnect 6900 network solutions, WiFi 6/6E, 5G Release 16 standards, and other technologies, making 5G network reach 10Gbps under millimeter-wave or Sub-6G, WiFi speed can also reach 3.6Gbps.
