Qualcomm maybe launch a new generation of high-end SoC called Snapdragon 8 Gen1

Qualcomm will launch a new generation of SoC code-named SM8450 at the Snapdragon Tech Summit held from November 30 to December 2, which will become the new core of the flagship models of major Android smartphone manufacturers. Although it has been rumored that its name is Snapdragon 898, there has always been controversy.
According to Wccftech reports, Qualcomm may change its name on a new generation of high-end SoC, calling it Snapdragon 8 Gen1. This represents a change in the naming method of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series in the future. In addition to retaining the Snapdragon title and serial numbers, Gen1 should represent Generation 1, which means the first generation. This name structure is a bit like the name of the chip used in Arm notebooks.

Interestingly, not only Qualcomm but also MediaTek intends to change the naming method for new products. As the main competitor of Qualcomm, MediaTek’s recent performance has been remarkable, putting a lot of pressure on Qualcomm. It is said that MediaTek’s new generation of high-end SoC, the rumored Dimensity 2000 will be renamed Dimensity 9000, I don’t know if this is a coincidence.

Qualcomm’s new generation of high-end SoC is a Kryo 780 Prime (Cortex-X2@3.09GHz), three Kryo 780 Gold (Cortex-A710@2.4GHz), and four Kryo 780 Silver (Cortex-A510@1.8GHz) ). The GPU is Adreno 730, the VPU and DPU are Adreno 665 and Adreno 1195 respectively, and it is also equipped with the Snapdragon X65 5G baseband and is manufactured using Samsung’s 4nm process.
