Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 is rumored to be better than GTX 1660 SUPER
The news about the desktop platform GeForce RTX 3050/RTX 3050 Ti has been circulating for a long time. Nvidia only launched GeForce RTX 3050/RTX 3050 Ti on mobile platforms, and it has been half a year since now.
Earlier reports pointed out that GeForce RTX 3050 Ti will use GA106-150, while GeForce RTX 3050 will use GA107-350. GeForce RTX 3050 Ti has 3072 CUDA cores with 6GB or 12GB video memory, while GeForce RTX 3050 has CUDA cores between 2304 and 2560, and the memory capacity is 4GB or 8GB. As Nvidia increases the memory capacity of its graphics card, the version below 8GB may be abandoned.
According to VideoCardz reports, Nvidia may also modify the configuration of GeForce RTX 3050/RTX 3050 Ti. GeForce RTX 3050 may also use the GA106 core and will be equipped with 8GB of video memory. It is said that the performance of GeForce RTX 3050 will be stronger than GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, but still lower than the upcoming GeForce RTX 2060 12GB version. In terms of performance, GeForce RTX 3050’s competitors should be AMD’s Radeon RX 6500 XT released in the first quarter of 2022, and Intel’s Alchemist graphics card corresponding to the brand of ARC.
It is rumored that GeForce RTX 3050 will be released in the second quarter of 2022 to enhance Nvidia’s competitiveness in the mainstream market.
