New Apple iMac will be equipped with MiniLED and 120Hz refresh rate screen

It is reported that LG is currently developing several new displays for Apple, including the successor model of Pro Display XDR and a screen designed for the iMac size.

According to a report by AppleInsider, Twitter user @dylandkt broke the news that LG has several “unbranded enclosures” displays that are in the early stages of development. One of the displays is a 32-inch model. @dylandkt said that although this display does not currently have any markings, it can be speculated that at least it should be the successor of the Pro Display XDR. As for the other two monitors, they are 24 inches and 27 inches, @dylandkt pointed out that the parameters of these two monitors are the same as the 24-inch and 27-inch iMac screens that Apple will launch next. In other words, the iMac screen is taken out as an independent display.

In addition, @dylandkt also mentioned that among the three displays, 32-inch and 27-inch screens will be equipped with MiniLED backlights and support variable refresh rates up to 120Hz. The 32-inch screen has appeared on Pro Display XDR before, but the 27-inch screen is the first time it has entered Apple’s display products if the news is true.

The Pro Display XDR display with MiniLED backlight is an important part for Apple users who need to create HDR content, and if the 27-inch display revealed this time also has MiniLED, I believe it should also be favored by many Apple users. However, the refresh rate of up to 120Hz is a bit fascinating. After all, creators don’t need a refresh rate, and Apple’s ecology is not so friendly for playing games. In any case, if Apple can really launch a display other than Pro Display XDR, it will be a good thing for Apple users.
