MySQL 5.6 will stop updating in February 2021. In other words, after February next year, the MySQL team will no longer provide any patches for the 5.6 series of MySQL.
Starting with the first version of MySQL 5.6, GA on February 5, 2013, 5.6 has been around for almost 7 years. In 2018, the MySQL team released a more powerful MySQL, version 8.0.
