MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE motherboard: 27 Phase VRM, Gen 5 PCIe & M.2 Slots

In MSI’s motherboard family, the top model is GODLIKE. In each generation, only the top chipset will be used to build the GODLIKE motherboard, and this motherboard is also the one with the best materials and the strongest expansion capability in this generation of MSI products. AMD’s new AM5 platform and Zen 4 architecture processor are expected to be released this fall, and the top chipset at that time is the X670E, for which MSI also created the MEG X670E GODLIKE motherboard.

Wccftech brings a detailed introduction of MSI’s MEG X670E GODLIKE top motherboard. The size of the motherboard is 305*288mm, it uses a crazy power supply of 24+2+1 phases, and will use a 105A Mosfet, and this is also one of the few ATX motherboards that will use a 10-layer PCB design. The CPU power supply adopts dual 8pin, located above the memory slot. The 24pin power supply port of the motherboard is turned 90° and placed on the right edge of the motherboard, and there is a 6pin power supply port next to it. The front USB 3.2 Gen 2*2 Type-C port of the motherboard supports 60W PD fast charging, and this 6pin port is specially designed for fast charging.

The motherboard provides four DDR5 memory slots, which can be expanded up to 128GB. It is not yet known what the maximum frequency of memory supported by the motherboard can be. It is known that the native JEDEC speed of the Ryzen 7000 processor can reach DDR5-5600, so this motherboard may allow the frequency of DDR5 memory to easily exceed 6000MHz or even 7000MHz.

The dual FCH configuration of the X670X takes up a lot of space on the motherboard. You can see that there are 8 SATA 6Gbps interfaces on the right side of the motherboard, two sets of USB 3.2 Gen 1 expansion pins and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C front panel expansion interfaces, and two sets of USB 2.0 expansion pins at the bottom. But according to MSI’s description, this Type-C port supports Display Port 2.0 output. The motherboard is equipped with dual wired network cards and a WiFi wireless network card, as well as 6-port audio ports. On the top, there are buttons to clear CMOS and BIOS Flash Back.

The motherboard provides three PCI-E 5.0 x16 slots, which can operate in 16+0+4 mode or 8+8+4 mode, there are four M.2 ports on the motherboard. One of them is the PCI-E 5.0 port provided by the CPU, and the other three are the 4.0 ports provided by the FCH. All interfaces provide a double-sided heat dissipation design and have M.2 screwless locks. There are also power switches, restart buttons, DeBug LEDs, and a large number of fan interfaces on the motherboard.
