MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X revealed: boost clock is up to 1900MHz, and TDP is 480W

At the CES 2022 exhibition, Nvidia unveiled the new GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. It has 10752 stream processors, the base clock is 1560 MHz, the boost clock is 1860 MHz, and it is equipped with 24GB of GDDR6X memory with a speed of 21 Gbps, coupled with the 384-bit video memory bandwidth, the theoretical video memory bandwidth exceeds 1 TB/s, which will be the first time in the history of GeForce graphics cards to cross the 1 TB/s bandwidth, and the TDP will also be increased to 450W.

Although NVIDIA said that it will further disclose the information of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti in mid-to-late January, there have been reports that due to BIOS or hardware problems, the timetable for the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti has been postponed and will miss the originally planned January 27 release time. In addition, the retailer’s page shows that the price of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is very high, with a starting price of nearly $3,654.

Among the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti listed by the retailer, the MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X appeared, and Twitter user @wnxod also exposed its specifications. According to the data, the boost clock of this GPU can reach up to 1900 MHz, thanks to its efficient customized cooling scheme, which can be controlled by MSI Control Center to achieve a clock increase in extreme mode.

As a non-public version of the graphics card, the TDP of the MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X reaches 480W, which is higher than the 450W of the public version. However, MSI did not equip this graphics card with the new PCIe 5.0 external power supply interface but used three 8Pin external power supply interfaces. MSI recommends that users use a power supply with a rated power of 1000W when using the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X, which shows that the power consumption will be very high.
