MSI Announces Its AMD X670 Series Motherboards
With AMD introducing the upcoming Zen 4 architecture Ryzen 7000 series processors and AM5 platform at Computex 2022, major motherboard manufacturers have also become busy. MSI immediately announced its X670 series motherboard lineup, including MEG X670E GODLIKE, MEG X670E ACE, MPG X670E CARBON WIFI, and PRO X670-P WIFI, which will meet consumers this fall.
MSI’s flagship MEG series includes two motherboards, the MEG X670E GODLIKE and the MEG X670E ACE. MEG series adopts E-ATX specification, and VRM provides intelligent power supply for up to 24+2 phases 105A. It uses a fin-type heat dissipation + heat pipe design, equipped with a MOSFET substrate to assist VRM heat dissipation, and the back metal armor protects the motherboard from bending.
MEG series motherboards are equipped with up to four M.2 slots, including one M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4, and come with an M.2 XPANDER-Z GEN5 DUAL expansion card that provides two additional PCIe 5.0 x4 M. 2 slots.
The MPG series is MPG X670E CARBON WIFI dark, which adopts the carbon element color matching style. It is equipped with an 18+2-phase 90A power supply, and provides two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and four M.2 slots, including two M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 slots. MSI will also work with EK to develop a custom water block covering the CPU, VRM, and M.2 areas.
PRO X670-P WIFI is for enterprise and business office users. It is equipped with a 14+2 dual-channel power supply system, provides an M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 slot, a 2.5Gbps network card, and supports Wi-Fi 6E. Compared with the previous motherboards with the X670E chipset, the X670 chipset can only support PCIe 5.0 through the M.2 slot.
MSI said that on AMD’s next-generation platform, a new design would be carried out according to the style requirements of each series, and it will be displayed with an exclusive style design logo. In addition, the rear USB Type-C ports of the X670 series motherboards support Display Port 2.0 output, and the front USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C ports of the MEG series will also support a 60W power supply.
