Today, Mozilla officially announced the launch of a new series of logos for Firefox apps and services. It is worth noting that this visual solution includes the parent logo for the entire product line for the first time. The new Firefox brand includes not only new icons, but also a new color palette, new icons, and a modern font. The team emphasized that “fast fox with a flaming tail doesn’t offer enough design tools to represent the entire product family. Recoloring that logo or dissecting the fox could only take us so far. We needed to start from a new place.”
Due to the expansion of its range of services and products, Mozilla believes it is necessary to improve the Firefox brand. This includes the encrypted file sharing service and password manager, which Mozilla says is just the beginning of the Firefox series. With the launch of the new brand, Mozilla hopes to make it easier to include new products in the Firefox brand.
Of course, the entire transformation of visual design requires community involvement from the start, and Mozilla realizes that the new brand is not yet complete and the team will listen to feedback on how to improve the Firefox brand.
