Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple will launch a foldable iPhone in 2023
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo released the latest preview of Apple’s new products. This time he provided information about Apple’s foldable iPhone and the components that will be equipped with the new iPhone in the future.
The first is the much-anticipated foldable iPhone. At present, Huawei and Samsung have launched a number of folding screen mobile phones, and the technology is much more mature than when the folding screen mobile phones first came out.
Apple, the big brother in the mobile phone industry that has always attracted much attention, will naturally not give up the future category of folding screen mobile phones. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple is expected to launch a foldable iPhone with a 7.5 or 8-inch display in 2023.
However, whether Apple will release a foldable iPhone in 2023 as scheduled depends on whether Apple can solve some of the key technology and mass production problems of folding-screen phones next year. Therefore, the foldable iPhone is still in the early pre-research stage within Apple.
According to previous news, Apple has been cooperating with two Korean display companies, Samsung and LG, to develop foldable OLED displays.
Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that in 2022, Apple will adopt a punch-hole screen design in the iPhone Pro series. It is expected to be similar to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but the current technical difficulty lies in how Apple places the huge Face ID module.
In addition, Ming-Chi Kuo also stated that Apple will be equipped with the under-screen fingerprint technology on high-end iPhone models in the future, and it is expected to see related models available in 2023.
